[ So for all the times he's been bothering her, Rokurou probably never expected Velvet to call him up. ]
Sync has returned with his memories intact. He'll be staying on the ship with his wyvern for a while.
[ Considering she got exactly what she wanted with attacking Sosyne, the therion moves on pretty quickly. ]
Also, I've decided what I want my next blade to be. It's made of light and can seemingly slice through anything with ease. When it makes contact with an opponent, it's as if the blade itself is straight out of a fire - cauterizing any wound it makes instantly.
[He is indeed surprised by Velvet calling him up, and since he's finally off bedrest, she catches him while he's in the middle of stretching. It's a shame she can't see him because he is in a very comical pose right now.]
A sword made of light? That's not possib—
[WAIT WAIT NO THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SHOULD BE FOCUSING ON (though no surprise he did comment on the sword part first).]
[ No one said he had to respond back the same way but thanks for sparing her whatever he might be doing. ]
I don't know how it's possible, only that it is. Two acquaintances of mine have one. I had the pleasure of going up against them during the battle with Sosyne.
[ THEY ARE CAPABLE OF DISCUSSING BOTH AT ONCE, AREN'T THEY? (wait until he finds out that one of those light swords gave her the haircut Rokurou thought she needed.) ]
That's right. He returned with the most recent new arrivals and came by my cell when he learned I was there.
[ So she hadn't even needed to ask if he remembered being here. ]
[BUT THIS IS LIKE. TWO IMPORTANT TOPICS AND HIS BRAIN ONLY WANTS TO FOCUS ON THE SWORDS??? BUT SYNC CAME BACK????????????
So there's a moment as he's actually clutching his head because how in the world does that mean the thing actually worked or just coincidence? He's banking on the latter and—he wants to talk about the sword, but— She might actually feel some of the mental anguish and confusion that's going on.
UUUGGGHHH HE'S STICKING TO ONE RIGHT NOW because he wants all his focus on those swords.]
Okay, we'll get back to the swords in a minute. [Oh that was so difficult to say.....] Back up on Sync. You don't think what we did actually had anything to do with that, do you?
[ COLOR HER SURPRISED WHEN ROKUROU ACTUALLY DECIDES TO CHOOSE SYNC OVER SWORDS. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? HAS HE HIT HIS HEAD?
That last question may actually come across the telepathic connection at a murmur because that is how shocked she is about the whole thing. Even if clearly the choice is causing the war daemon some serious turmoil.
It actually takes her a minute to get back to this and skip over the sword thing so they can talk about Sync first.
She's shrugging on her end - not that he can see it. ] No idea. Other people have come back with their memories intact before so it's hard to say without repeating our actions.
[ Which Velvet is not yet prepared to do at this moment. ]

[RIGHT??? It was so difficult...so difficult to choose... And he already wants to talk about these lightsaber sword things, but this is also important since. ...Well he's actually been asked whether or not there would be a repeat and he tried to be vague in the "Probably, yeah" department. He's also wondering what Velvet's mindset is now.]
And I take it you plan on doing that at some point.
[ Considering he's only just finding out about Sync's return now, the answer was absolutely "yeah" that Velvet would continue doing such drastic and potentially deadly risks. Though now that Sync is back and Velvet essentially got what she wanted, she might have changed her mind. So Rokurou is sort of right to ask. ]
Perhaps not an exact repeat but there are still answers I want and I won't find them playing nice.
[Yep, that is pretty much what he expected, and as to how he feels about it... Eh. Right now, nothing other than cautious anticipation.]
Think next time we could try to involve a little less of the town? At least directly.
[That'll be the small hint that he does kind of feel a little guilty about what happened, or at least about the social backlash that wound up happening. He's all right with making enemies, but would be nice to keep the "casualty" count a little low.]
[ Her next action probably won't be to go try and kill an Arehtei so... ]
Next time I intend to be as far away from the town as we can possibly get. This way they can't just hop over and stop us so easily.
[ Which was kind of the point of choosing Sosyne. Velvet hadn't wanted to actually kill the overgrown whale, just shake her (and the world) up a bit. Not to mention she was trying to not murder people and failed drastically. ]
We likely won't be attacking an Arehtei next time either.
No, nothing yet. I'm waiting to see what happens in the aftermath of attacking one of them before deciding our next move.
[ Riling up the natives doesn't count, having Sync return is certainly one thing that happened but whether it's just coincidence or they actually managed to make it possible is still up in the air. ]
Then we try something else, do some research on what we did learn. Machina is worried about what might happened to the people aligned with an Arehtei if we kill it.
It's a fair a concern, and I had some people point that out, too. Guess that could be something I could ask Thras sometime...but I am thinking the Arehtei might be a dead end.
Personally I'm curious about what could be found in their domains.
I've heard that Arehtei get reborn but whether that's actually true or not is up in the air. It certainly not true for all of them, all of the time. Let me know what Thras says.
[ From what little she knows about the one seemingly permanently dead Arehtei. ]
I got inside the doors near Elios' over a year ago. He had a bunch of frozen bodies lining the entrance.
Thras had told me that the rebirth cycle is definitely a thing, so not sure what you mean there. [A small pause.] Unless you mean Simpathis. He just said she was missing, but not dead.
But Elios's place sounds...interesting. I'm guessing that was related to the whole freezing everyone so they wouldn't leave thing.
